At the Herman & Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center at Northwest Hospital, we utilize a multidisciplinary (multi-D) approach to treat breast cancer and address total breast health. This multi-D philosophy involves a meeting of physicians from different specialty areas to provide cancer patients with an optimal treatment plan.
Often, breast care can be fragmented, lengthy and filled with emotional stress, but the multi-D approach remedies these issues. Rather than having three or four separate appointments on different dates and times, patients meet conveniently with three to four specialists at one time. This multi-D conference streamlines care by combining office appointments; expedites treatment by eliminating waiting times; and provides patients with a clear treatment focus and direction that they can understand.
Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes:
Dawn Leonard, M.D.
Breast Surgeon and Medical Director of the Sameulson Breast Care Center
Cristina Truica, M.D.
Medical Oncologist
Jeanette A Linder, M.D.
Chief, Radiation Oncology
Reconstructive Surgeon participation as needed.
